freshman--dictionaries

If you are interested in getting a dictionary, I really like the Larousse Consise Dictionary. http://www.amazon.com/Larousse-Concise-Dictionary-Spanish-English-English-Spanish/dp/2035410096 You could also check with Otto's Bookstore.

I like this dictionary because it gives more usage options than a "pocket dictionary", but those are also okay. Google translator is pretty good for a couple of words but should only be used as a dictionary, not for phrases and sentences.

August update!

So! School starts in less than 2 weeks! Are you ready? Don't you just hate that question that EVERYONE asks at the end of the summer?

I went into school once this week and put a few things out in the classroom. The dictionaries are all ready for your inquisitive minds:)

I am looking forward to seeing all of you!! Yes, ALL of you! haha And I guess I will be meeting a whole slew of new freshman. Start thinking of what Spanish name you want!

Fill the rest of your summer with fun (and work, if you need to do any!!), but don't waste it!!!

-Srta.

I'm so sorry. I am so out of the habit that I fogot to post this week's work!

It was a crazy week with Keystone exams and field trips, but this is what we did in Spanish class:

Adiós Srta Lawless :(

Today was Srta. Lawless' last day of student teaching. It was a bittersweet day, as you would expect. It's hard to say goodbye, but it's exciting as she moves into the next stage of her life. Miss Lawless has the makings of a great teacher! I'm very proud of the work she has done here at South. One of the key characteristics of a good teacher (and person in general) is being teachable. Srta. Lawless learned each day what works well in a classroom and what doesn't work so well. Then, she would make changes the next day in order to improve herself as well as the learning experience of the students. If you're not willing to analyze yourself, how will you ever improve?

Thanks for all your hard work, Srta. Lawless!

una cosa nueva

I am revamping my school website. This will be where the daily work is posted once Miss Lawless is done with her student teaching. I'm looking forward to the new set up--I do believe it will be much more user friendly. Many thanks to Mr. Cremer for this idea:)
